Ted Sablay returns with State & Motion (2026)

Ten songs built around melodic intent, clean parts, and forward motion. Produced by Sam Cohen.

Announcement

Acclaimed musician and musical director Ted Sablay—best known for his long-running work with The Killers—announces his second solo album, State & Motion, a ten-song collection that sharpens his voice as a songwriter: melody-forward, lyric-conscious, and built to move.

Produced by Sam Cohen, the record follows Sablay’s 2022 debut You’ll Be Back Here Soon and expands the same core idea: tuneful songs with replay value—parts that feel inevitable, not ornamental.

A veteran multi-instrumentalist, Sablay has spent nearly two decades touring with The Killers—joining during the Sam’s Town era as a guitar/keys utility player and becoming the band’s Musical Director in 2022. He’s performed in the world’s biggest rooms and shared stages with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, and Elton John. That real-world pressure shows up here as discipline: strong decisions, clean arrangements, no filler.

State & Motion moves between intimate acoustic moments and full-band drive, with songs that track change, modern relationships, and the cost of forward motion. Highlights include the emotional pull of “Baby I Need You Now” and the closing lift of “Move On,” alongside “At First Glance,” “Invisible Weight,” “You Drive Me Crazy,” and “Turning Me Out.”
